Aide Médicale Internationale (AMI), a French organization, launched Health Messenger in Cambodia, following the launch of similar successful titles in Burma and Thailand.

Lao Chantha, our current director and editor, joined the organisation.
February 2004
Jerome Turcas, together with Dr Im Sarun, Dr Ly Cheng Huy and Dr Chea Samnang founded Ponleu Sokhapheap (PSP). The organization was localized and registered as a local NGO with the Ministry of Interior. The four founding members all continue to serve on PSP's board, while Lao Chantha is now its executive director.
November 2005
Distribution of Health Messenger doubled to 15,000, making Health Messenger a national publication. To date it is the only publication to reach every health worker in the country.
January 2007
Health Messenger changed from a single topic format to become a multi-topic publication.
March 2009
The number of circulated copies of Health Messenger was increased to 30,000. It is now distributed to staff working at five additional Ministries, besides the Ministry of Health, at central, provincial and district level: the Ministry of Rural Development, the Ministry of Women’s Affairs, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Social Affairs.
