The sixth regional workshop on strengthening the distribution and promoting readership of HM (Cambodian Journal of Nursing and Midwifery-CJNM) showed that health professionals began to understand the significance of reading HM (CJNM) to improve their daily practice. The workshop was held on 14 September 2011at 7 Makara Hotel in Kampong Cham town, Kingdom of Cambodia. There were 46 participants attending the workshop, and they are directors of provincial health department and focal points from 24 provinces and cities across the country. During a one-day intensive workshop, the participants discussed the potential implication of improving distribution and promoting readership of HM (CJNM). The presentations were about an overview of PSP’s activities, strategic distributions, project evaluation, monitoring and follow up, and communication supports,

The workshop was particularly successful as we can explore effectiveness of strategies for distributing to the target audiences and promote readership because there is strong participation and commitment from focal points and counterparts, and especially audiences are aware of the significance of the Health Messenger for their daily work. PSP also considered holding any other events to explore more at ODs and HCs level about readers’ reading culture and seek effective way to address this issue altogether.

The purpose of the workshop was to bring together key stakeholders to discuss the best possible ways to strengthen the distribution and reading of HM (CJNM).. At the end of the workshop, all participants were happy as they had opportunity to discuss and share knowledge and experiences among all participants, and finally they came up with better strategies to promote reading and strengthen the distribution of HM (CJNM).
